Gridin’s Group LT Returns to Meyer Turku Shipyard

News

After a 3-year hiatus Gridin‘s Group LT returns to Meyer shipbuilding plant (Finland) to assist this shipyard, which builds gigantic ships, in implementing their ongoing projects. This cooperation is expected to consolidate new prospects for future development in the shipbuilding market.

Meyer Turku shipyard is quite specific, where thousands of people are employed. That is not dozens, but hundreds of companies either cooperate, or compete. Our strategic objective is increasing cooperation in Finland. Specific nature of the services we provide matches most of business sectors, where work is proposed by Meyer shipyard departments. We’ve already signed a contract with one construction department and intend to provide keen and tough competition for all remaining work in other departments – we want to prove our company is one of the finest,” – states Lina Ambrazaitienė, head of Gridin’s group LT.

Although future cooperation poses many challenges, the company claims it is prepared to overcome them. Project Manager Vytautas Indzelis says: “In contrast to many other shipyards, here we need to provide ourselves with equipment and some of the materials needed for work. Also, due to the diversity of work performed at this shipyard, which can be ‘scattered’ throughout the entire shipyard, more rigorous supervision is required, and hence a greater number of supervisors. We’ll be responsible for quality of all work performed for this project, therefore we’ll need a constant concentration of attention and efforts for proper implementation of all commitments.”
